【摘要】:1.1Thispracticepresentsmethodsfortestingthephysicalpropertiesofsecurityseals.Whereappropriate,thevarioustestsincludeparticularapparatusorproceduralspecificationsrequiredfordifferenttypesofsecurityseals.1.2Thispracticewillserveasabasisforcomparingtheresponseofvarioussecuritysealsunderdifferentmodesofattack.Thesecuritysealtobeevaluatedshallfirstbeplacedinanappropriateclassification,andthentestedinthemannerdesignatedasmostsuitableforthatclassofseal,inaccordancewithClassificationF832.Note1--SeeGuideF1158forproceduresontheinspectionandevaluationoftamperingofsecurityseals.1.3Asecuritysealisadeviceintendedtodetecttamperingorentry.Singleuselockingdevicesaretobeevaluatedunderthisspecification.Therefore,thefollowingproceduresaretoreflecttherelativeperformanceofsecuritysealswhensubjecttovariousphysicalattacks.1.4Thispracticeisnotintendedtobefullycomprehensive,sincecertaintypesofsecurityseals,suchaslabels,arenotaddressed.Further,itistheresponsibilityofusersofthispracticetointerprettheirspecificsecurityneedsconcerningtheapplicationofseals,andtodeterminethegradeofsealappropriatefortheirparticularapplication.ASTMassumesnoresponsibilityforlossesoccurringasaresultofadefeatedsealwhetherthedefeatisapparentorthesealisnotsuitedforitsapplication.1.5Thevaluesasstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesaregivenforinformationonly.1.6Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestproceduresportion,Section6,ofthispractice.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
